Why Do You Need A Student Loan?
A student at St John’s University just showed me this letter.
Your invoice for the Fall 2007 semester was due in full Wednesday,
August 1, 2007. You may have been assessed the Late Payment Fee
of $200, and your classes and/or housing assignment are subject
to be dropped if sufficient payment arrangements are not made.
If you have not received your bill in the mail, it is available online on your
student account. If you have paid your bill within the last 24 hours,
please disregard this notice.
Log in to your account through St. John’s Central.
Click on Login. Enter your student X-ID number and your PIN.
Once you have logged in, click on Student & Financial Aid,
click on Registration, click on View Term Bill and choose Fall 2007.
You will then be able to view your Fall 2007 charges minus any Financial Aid
you are qualified for. Scroll down to the bottom of the View Term Bill page
and you will find the link to pay by credit card or online check.
You must confirm your attendance by clicking on the Submit button.
If you cannot pay in full, you may create a Deferred Payment Plan
contract online and your payment due now, will be HALF + $150
of your View Term Bill balance due.
Please be sure you will pay online by credit card or Webcheck deduction
this down payment, as you will not be confirmed for the Fall 2007
if you just create the contract.
You must create the contract and pay your half down to be confirmed
by the University. You will then be able to view your class schedule
with buildings and rooms online under Student Detail Schedule.
When you register for class, St. John’s University considers your registration
to be a clear indication of your intention to attend the University.
Paying your bill or confirming your classes completes the registration process.
If you change your mind about attending class or if circumstances prevent you
from attending, you must notify us officially of your change in status.

SOUNDS LIKE A REASONABLE REQUEST…
Here’s the reality (this is just for one semester)
Term Charges - $13,695.00
Current Term Balance - $13,695.00
So, all they have to do is send in a check for $13,695.00.
If they don’t have all the money, they can just send in half + $150
(which equals $6,997.50) and pay the rest off in easy monthly
payments (before the next semester).
Believe it or not, some people may not have that much money available.
That’s why you need a student loan!
