of the Interim Board of Directors for your efforts in guiding the
Student Loan Marketing Association during its initial period of operation.

I look forward to the future growth of the Association as an important
source of funds for lenders who provide loans to postsecondary students”.

President Gerald R Ford knew the value of a good education.
Ford himself played center on the University of Michigan’s
1932 and 1933 National Champion Football Teams.

He also knew that funding would be necessary so students
could secure student loans to continue their Higher Education.

As we say good bye for the last time to President Ford today,
let us not forget the valuable contributions he made, so students loans
would be available for Americans to continue their education.
