Marijuana vs Pharmeuticals

Marijuana or Cannabis, (as it is more appropriately called), is a
valuable aid in the treatment of a wide range of clinical applications.

These include:

- pain relief particularly of neuropathic pain (pain from nerve damage),
- spasticity
- nausea
- movement disorders
- glaucoma.

Marijuana is also a powerful appetite stimulant, specifically for
patients suffering from HIV, (the AIDS wasting syndrome), or dementia.

Doctors prescribe drugs all the time for all kinds of ailments.
Why is it illegal in 36 states to prescribe marijuana for those
who could benefit from it?

A study published in the March 1, 1990 issue of the
Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences …stated that there are:

Virtually no reports of fatal cannabis overdose in humans.”

They attributed this safety to the low density of cannabinoid receptors
in areas of the brain controlling breathing and the heart.

Interesting… Now, compare that fact to this precaution…

- “Could cause blood pressure to drop to an unsafe level”

- “To avoid long-term injury, seek immediate medical attention”

- In rare cases … “reported a sudden decrease of loss of vision in one
or both eyes or a sudden loss or decrease in hearing, sometimes with ringing
in the ears and dizziness.”

This is the “Important Safety” information for the prescription drug…
Levitra - (an ED drug which you see advertised on TV all the time).

Levitra is a drug that doctors prescribe all the time (so men can get horny).

It’s been reported by many users that marijuana also makes men horny.
Now, hypothetically assume the above sentence is true.

So which is better… Marijuana or Levitra?

If you could get the same result from either one, but Levitra could cause…
LOSS OF VISION IN ONE OR BOTH EYES

Which one would you prefer?

Doctors and unsuspecting patients don’t pay attention to such warnings.
Which drug would your doctor recommend? Levitra of course.

So why would your doctor choose Levitra over Marijuana?
Well, one reason is because it’s legal.
Another reason is because…

That is what YOUR DOCTOR has been taught to do.

Multi-national drug corporations control most of health care…
…including the medical education of doctors.

Most physicians do not question this fact.
The largest political lobbying force in Washington DC is not the oil, tobacco,
or gun lobby, but the drug companies.

They have more lobbyist in Washington than there are congressmen.

The pharmaceutical industry is in it for the money.
Mother Nature isn’t in it for money.

The following is just my speculation and some “food for thought” and
is not intended as an indictment against the medical profession, but
rather an examination of some interesting facts…

- Drug companies spend over $16,000,000,000.00 annually to
influence physicians’ prescriptions.

- Every year the drug companies spend over $4,000,000,000.00 on
direct-to-consumer advertising (which is legal in only 2 countries in
the entire world… the United States and New Zealand).

Doctors receive perks from the drug companies!

One might speculate that could have a measurable effect on which drugs
they prescribe. (Drug companies do bonus doctors accordingly).

Ever notice that almost every time you visit your doctor, some guy
or woman is standing at the reception desk with briefcase in hand
to see the doctor for a quick moment - (to show them the latest drug).

Did you ever notice - that more often then not, when you go to the
doctor, you walk out with a prescription in hand to go buy some drug?

Do you ever read - The Warning Label on your prescription?

Consider this…If you actually read the warning labels on the drugs that
are prescribed and heeded the warnings…

YOU WOULDN’T DARE TAKE THE DRUG.

And if the doctors heeded the warnings on the drugs they prescribed,
they wouldn’t dare prescribe the drug - yet they do and you take them.

Try this… Pay attention the next time you see a drug commercial on TV.

Listen carefully to the warnings. You know, the part at the end where the
guy talks at the speed of light and tells you reasons why…

Maybe you shouldn’t take the drug…
(Stuff like… in rare cases can cause nausea, headaches, blindness or death).

Did you catch that… in rare cases can cause “death.”
EVERY pharmaceutical drug has some side effect.

And the drugs you take to counter-affect the side effects, in effect,
give you additional side effects. It becomes a vicious cycle.
